Meet our Chef Jason

My name is Jason and I have been a qualified chef for over 25 years. I have worked in various locations including Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Darwin and have worked in cafes, catering companies, stadiums and now have found my niche in Childcare centres.

Nutrition and eating well is important to me for a number of reasons. I am a type 1 Diabetic so I need to ensure I am eating healthy and the right foods so as to manage my sugar levels. I also have 2 young daughters and I want to ensure that they understand what they are eating and have the right nutrition on a daily basis. Finally, I love to grow my own vegetables and fruit and there is nothing better than eating fresh, homegrown produce and watching kids eating the fruit right off the trees and bushes.

Why did I choose to work here at Billy Button? First and foremost, I wanted to provide the healthy and nutritious meals for the children. I also like providing meals and coffees through the cafe and talking to parents and customers on a daily basis via the cafe window. Finally the team is fantastic and there is a real focus towards a common goal of providing the best care for the kids.
